Headphone socket on an amplifier / pre-amp vs dedicated head-amp.

I've been on the hunt for a decent headphone amplifier since enjoying my new pair of TRN IEM's.

It occurred to me that my Rotel pre-amp (not currently in the system) has a headphone jack.

How do the headphone outputs on the typical decent-quality integrated or pre amplifier compare to a proper head-amp?
