Hey all,

So something which has been bothering me a bit and got me wondering as well, hearing loss. To most people if they lose some of their hearing as long as they are able to hear other people without much difficulty they would not really care or be bothered. For us it is a bit different I think, the more we can retain the better considering our hobby.
I do not think my hearing is as good as it was about a year or two ago, a bit sad and quite annoying. I would like to have my hearing checked though just out of interest sake although not too sure where to go and have this done or how much it costs? Any ideas?

What things can be done to try and prevent hearing loss? The most common is to wear ear plugs when you will be exposed to something loud, be it working with certain machinery or being by a loud vehicle or even going out to concerts. What else can be done to prevent it?
As far as I am aware, once you have lost some of your hearing you cannot get it back? Generally you stop being able to hear higher frequencies if I am not mistaken?
So upto what frequency can you hear upto? Are you able to hear up to the full 20Khz or perhaps only 18Khz?
