Hi all,
Need some help with an issue:
I've had this SABA Flip clock radio lying around for ages. What better time to fix it up than now (lockdown). The motor was making a loud noise. I opened it up, managed to clean it out a bit and put in some sewing machine oil. It seems to be smooth now.
The only problem I have is with the Volume slider (sliding potentiometer). It gets really loud way too quickly. The slider goes up to 10, but I can't take it past 2 because it gets super loud (starts to distort).
(Interestengly, I found a video on your tube with a repair of the same clock for the motor, and th radio light. I notice he has the volume slider (highlighted in the red box) set about the same as mine. Perhaps this is a common failing in this model).
Any thoughts if it's the potentiometer, or something else that could the issue?
PS. I have the pillow speaker for this as well. It's slide into a small compartment in the back.
