I'm putting in an order for the parts for a 3-way for my project speakers... and would appreciate some good advice.
* AWG for inductors. 15AWG should be enough for most anything. The XO point on my LF will be around 440Hz, which means a meaty 6mH guy, which is .9R. That seems ok? 18AWG is a lot cheaper -- is 15AWG over-engineering? DCR increases to about 1R2.
* Should I pick XO and get cap values closest to what is available, and then get the inductor one size bigger and unwind it a little to get the right value, or should I pick XO point for the available inductor and then mix and match a couple of caps to get value? e.g. I need 24uF, so can get two 47uF
* 10W resistors should be fine?
* What cap voltages are needed? My power amp does only 50V-odd swing, so why'd I need more than 100V? Hell, the damn things seem to start at about 400v
Wise words welcomed...
