I'll be, after December the proud owner of a Technics Class AA amp with one channel down - the heatsinks on that channel stay cold. And 2 pairs of fairly large old B&O three way speakers ones with a midrange dome ?Possibly SEAS? and a sealed +/- 8inch woofer. One set is ?broken?, the other fine.
I've looked around on DIYAudio and the suggested links there for the Schematics of the Technics Class AA amps, but either the sites didn't have the Schematics, or the Text on the www page was japanese... so if any of you have knowledge of these amps I would appreciate the info or links. Don't know model numbers yet, and don't have time to find out beforehand, but I think the chip and circuits they used to manage the Class AA PSU, which apparently may or may not quite be Class H? will remain the same...
For the speakers I think the ones that are working might just get some replacement X-O parts. I won't be suprised if the electrolytics are past their prime by now... The broken one will be stripped for spares and subjected to some new drivers and whatever else I might think of... Anyway sounds like fun and will include nice sound at girlfriends house, so I won't feel too deprived of good-ish sound whilst there...
