A Sensible opinion. The Nyquist Sampling theorem tells us everything we need to know. Our hearing is limited to around 20Khz, 44.1 Khz is perfect. Higher sampling rates make sense if you need to edit the data, but for final distribution 44.1Khz is sufficient.Interestingly, I have seen Dire Straits Brothers in Arms listed as a great sounding SACD on a few lists. The reality is that Brothers in Arms were originally recorded in 44.1 Khz and sampled for SACD by digitizing an analog output of the recording.
