Home wired network layout / design

Hi all,

Finalising a deal to start building a new house in the new year and wanted to get some info on designing the home network. If done early enough, I will have conduits put in for fixed access in each area, along with wireless points.

Anybody do this previously - is it advisable to get an AV / Automation supplier in to look at layout now (as I am considering small automation projects in future, as funds are available)? Would appreciate comments and recommendations.
