Is it possible to successfully implement a horn to a normal speaker drive unit like a mid or midwoofer, a HiVi m5a mated to a horn.
Ie. Similar to adding a waveguide to a tweeter, like Ian did here:

But(here's the catch), without an enclosure to 'cancel' out the rear wave. No?
I'm just wondering(not planning anything...yet) how would one go about making DIY horn speaker like Avantgard Acoutic horns, using and modifying something that readily available and doesn't cost mega $$$.
Am I dreaming/thinking beyond the realms of a diy enthusiast?
