Greetings everyone, I am looking for information on how an AVR and TV set interface with each other. Assume I am feeding a DVD signal into my AVR via HDMI. I have been under the impression that once the signal reaches the AVR, it is split into the video signal carried either by an HDMI connection or by an optical cable to the TV and the audio signal , processed by the AVR and onwards to the loudspeakers. But, recent reading has suggested (not confirmed) that the full video and audio signal is first passed into the TV and that the audio signal is then carried back into the AVR for further processing. I had assumed that the ARC cable connection from AVR monitor output to TV played its role in transmitting video signals to the TV and sending back to the AVR broadcast or streaming audio signals only. Please help me by clarifying how the connection works and thanks in advance.
