I'm a training sucker and will attend pretty much any kind of training seminar I get invited to.
I believe that you can never know enough about any subject, particularly those in our industry which changes so much.
In the past I've been involved in trying to launch MECP (mobile Electronics Certification Programme) and have just reread their training manual, have attended training in the States (on car audio) and have been to a few CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design & Installation Association) training sessions.
CEDIA will be here again in around two weeks and while there has been tremendous support from our local distributors, there has been a little less from Custom Installers.
So my questions are.
1: Do consumers here feel that it is important to deal with trained/Certified people (whatever the industry) ? Admittedly this is no guarantee that a job will be done properly, but the odds are better.
2o those forumites that are involved in the A/V industry feel that there is a need for training/certification? (And CEDIA training is done by internationally recognised personnel)
If yes to 1 or 2 ,why?
If No to 1 or 2, Why?
Would anyone be offended if I supplied the answers here to CEDIA?
