For years I've been mocked about certain of my audio equipment being the same as another, cheaper variety and while I doubt that is true and in said is jest from friends, I found this 'test' of the Lexicon BD-30 Blu Ray player quite interesting http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/transports/high-definition-dvd-players-hd-dvd-blu-ray/lexicon-bd-30-blu-ray-oppo-clone/oppo-inside-lexicon-outside-1
You'll notice the player is identical - tests and all - to the Oppo BDP-83 Blu Ray player. The Lexicon costs $3,000.00 more and offers THX certification over the Oppo - but you'll notice in the test it actually doesn't even meet the THX certification afterall!
I wonder often mid-end and high-end parts and units are shared?
