The Ortofon head shell here was a bit beaten-up when I got it. I scraped off the paint and polished it, but over time it ended up looking like the tweeter face plate in the background: all grey and severely oxidised. So I've buffed it up again, as you see here in the pic, though I know it will oxidise again. Any tips on how to keep it looking shiny? I believe it is made of magnesium.
