I have received my HRT streamer +, run it in and now done the comaprison and am happy to say that I am very impressed with this little device.
It is not as user friendly as the squeezbox, but if you have your pc setup correctly with playlists and remote, it is not too bad and you get used to it.
Compared it to Squeezebox and Cambridge DAC combination (with high end interconnects and digital cable). The staging on the squeezebox combination is slightly better, however, the HRT streamer + is better in every other regard. More controlled bass, more accurate timing, better dynamics and more detailed.
Also compared it to the Cambridge Azur 840c CD player and the streamer+ wins hands down. It is quite sad considering the price difference and the streamer+ is more user friendly than the CD player.
Cost wise - Much cheaper and you don't have to fork out for a digital cable
