Most of us shun the idea of someone buying a HTIB setup, but I had an experience this weekend that made me understand why many people go that route.
A neighbour bought a LCD TV during last week and I helped him set it up. He had a terrible "surround sound" as he calls it and I suggested he replace that as well. As he is a stingy person(with a lot of money) I suggested that he buys an LG HTIB that Game had on special.
On Saturday morning I went to Game and bought this setup(R1199) and during the afternoon connected everything up. I have to admit that the sound for such a cheap setup is quite good in his smallish TV room. Yes it would not rattle the rafters or anything like that, but still I was surprised ;D
