good afternoon;
this is my first post so forgive me...
i have just finished my first set of speakers and i am busy with the crossover, but after reading through countless posts and books i have come to the conclusion that i want to build a active crossover...but i am thinking of still using a zobel or impedance matching network, thus having the best of both worlds.
obviously the active networks need more amplifiers etc.
but the passive networks never really get close due to the introduction of non-linearities such as phase shifts...but the zobel will go a long way in giving the amplifier a linear load to drive, due to the resonance being "neutralised" or attenuated.
would a hybrid be worth the effort?
thank you for the great forum, very inspiring
