Just a quick thought:
Why, when so many manufacturers are moving to 'designer' asthetics with their construction in so many fields (speakers, computer monitors, home electronics), is the predominant colour of TV sets' finish silver?
98% of mainstream consumer TV's (CRT's) are silver - what is this obsession with silver? I mean, black speakers, black receiver and player and... silver TV. Even computers broke the beige fetish. I know that a lot of HTIB's are silver components, but are consumers just not wanting a little choice in TV finish? Or is there some distint reason why TV's aren't finished in black and I wasn't told? We own an old Phillips 84cm and it's black, but you just don't see black anymore. Thoughts?
