I've been patient! I'm at the point now that I need to make a decision before I break down with Audiophile FOMO!

Over the last few months everyone has been very helpful and forthcoming with advice etc. I think the patience has paid off because this week a pair of B&W 683s and the Valve Audio Exclame became available - both 2 years old and at great prices. The proposed KEF LS50s I would have to purchase out the box at R12k. The studio monitors would also be brand new and seem great value for money without the need for an amp.

I've auditioned the KEFs and VXT6s - both seemed very impressive, with great detail across the range - which I love. I haven't auditioned the Exclame or B&Ws but I suspect these could never be a poor decision based on the reviews I've heard here.

If I opt for the Stereo setup it would remain in my study (4x3m room, listening distance of about 3.5m) whereas the Home Theater setup would be in the lounge (5x5m open plan room). I put in the HT option because I thought I might share the beautiful sound with the rest of the family. Having a 3 month old might be dangerous for the equipment though  :vsad: With time I would purchase the additional surrounds and sub...

That said, I would love to have a decision by Saturday!

Appreciate any and all opinions!

Cheers,
Rob
