And I felt bad about it 
I'll start at the beginning.
My ears are very sensitive to certain sounds, one of them being a cricket chirping. I hear them even if they're far away and it often drives me nuts. So last night I'm watching television when a cricket comes limping out from behind the couch. It's obviously injured so it's an easy kill. Few seconds later a big ant comes out on the same path and I killed it as well. It was one of those soldier types that'll hurt you or the dog if it gets the opportunity.
But then the picture came together. The cricket was fleeing for his life because the ant maimed him. I should have granted amnesty but in my haste I killed a hero.
Oh well, life goes on with one cricket less to annoy me
