Hi guys
I have a pair of Zound Acoustics ZA4 speakers that I won in an AVSA competition. I still vividly remember where I was driving the day that I got the call to tell me I had won these little beauties. To cut a long story short, I got them, I love them, they stopped working.
OK, here is what is the problem. They work via remote control only. They have no control buttons on them except the power switch at the back. As it stands, they power up, but I can't get them to go out of standby mode. Now this can be the remote that has stopped functioning (I have bought a new battery for the remote, but that did not solve the problem) or it could be the speaker that has gone faulty. Problem is, I have no way of checking which it is. One possible solution is to get another remote and test the speakers that way. The problem with that is that Zound Acoustics seem to have disappeared, so I don't know where I would be able to get another remote from. I won't mind buying another one, because if it is my remote that has gone faulty, then my problem is solved. If not, I will simply have the speaker repaired and I will have an extra remote, which is also OK.
So, are there any suggestions of how to solve this? I would really like these little tykes to grace my desk again. They gave me many hours of pleasure and I grew to respect them mightily for what they were capable of in such an affordable package. I still miss their presence on my desk.
Thanks,
Deon
