I'm normally quite disciplined about wearing eye protection when grinding, routing, etc.
Except when I needed to do a tiny little job quick, quick, and didn't - and ended up with a tiny fleck of grinding material lodged on my cornea.
Two days to work out that it was something stuck, trip to ER where they couldn't dislodge it, and trip to specialist to dig it out.
ALWAYS wear eye protection, it's just not worth taking the risk.
