What are your experiences with these things.

Our dachshund is on a strict diet for 3 weeks now and although I can monitor its weight loss progess anytime I want at our vet, I thought I'll get a digital bathroom scale to replace our old Soehnle analogue faithful.

I checked out prices at Clicks and various other places and their prices vary between +-R150 to R300. The other day I was at Cash Crusaders and saw they had 3 different models with prices similar to those of Clicks.

The shop assistant and I tried all three models, setting up the scales on a flat tiled surface and I eventually bought a scale from them which had the least amount of variations.

At home, I have been taking measurements of my weight and then with holding the dog and deduct the readings from eachother which should give me the dog's weight.

The readings I get vary from flat tiled surface to flat tiled surface and also day to day, making me disbelieve in its accuracy. Some days for example, I weigh 63.5kg and moving the damned thing to another similar surface to my wife's bathroom, I then weigh 64.7kg. What the hell can you believe??

What are your experiences with these things? Are they worthwhile to spend money on?
