Well, I'm scratching my head with this speaker placement issue. Please see attached image. The first block is the way the speakers were (less than optimal) and the second block is how they are after FINALLY convincing the missus. All the issues I had with the first placement is now resolved, but I've lost quite a bit of stereo imaging with the final setup.
My first guess was that I'm generating a lot of reflections off the top window with the top speaker, blurring the image, but that window has a lot of heavy drapes. It's not an empty wall that'll cause these issues. The bottom wall is actually the open plan kitchen counter, so that part is open.
I'm a little stumped. I suspect a refelection issue causing the blurring, but I'm not seeing it. The first option gave much better imaging (although I woultdn't get it by sitting on the couch - hence the move), but had lots of other things wrong with it.
Any ideas?
