During the past 2 weeks, my adsl Telkom line has developed a terrific crackling and hissing noise, making it totally unusable. I did the usual first before lodging a faulty line complaint with Telkom and cleaned every single line plug and socket both mechanically and with contact cleaner. This didn't help at all so also swopped the splitters which had no effect.
So I called Telkom at 10217 as the line is classified "Business" and gave up holding on for 1/2hour 3x and having to listen to their fairytales.
I think it was on Tuesday this week that I logged a fault online. All is in order - the problem is logged, I have sms and email confirmations and a reference number,.
Since logging/lodging the problem with Telkom, my internet and email services has also gone bad and very slow - often logged out here and elsewhere, going here from Home to unread posts takes almost 5 minutes and then requires rebooting the computer and router.
So - does anyone have any prior experience on online fault logging and how long it took Telkom to repair such a situation? I have twice tracked progress online but its a generic reply.
