Who remember these, a set from 1986 which I discovered. Infinity Reference Standard 8a's. It was part of my dad's setup and was boxed since 1993 when he died. My brother had it stored and fixed the rubber surrounds recently and brought them to me.
I just sat and compared them to my Boston CR8's. No doubt they are better than the CR8's. Much better stage, separation and transparency. I would not have believed it had I not heard it myself. Probably the fact that they are double the physical size of the CR8's that makes a difference, but the driver is only a 6 inch vs the Boston's 7 inch.
Thoughts on them, what can/should I do/ have done to them? Caps replaced, furniture polish, what? And if anything, by whom in CT?
