Hi, am in process of changing insurance companies, and the one aspect that has been worrying me, having heard how some friends had their claims settled, is how to set it up with the insurance company. What I'm referring to is the issue of insuring your stereo/home theatre equipment. How have you lot done it? Reason I ask, is that a friend of mine was told that he didn't need to worry, as it was all under the general cover of the policy, and that in the even t of theft/irreparable damage, they would replace it with an 'equivalent unit'. Now the insurance company's understanding of an equivalent doesn't necessarily meet with what we would regard a valid replacement. Would just be interested to hear your views - would you specify your equipment separately in order to make sure you didn't end up with an HTiB from the insurance company?
