My boss approached me yesterday with the following question, my answer was no but I thought I'd share it anyway.

It involves ethernet over power and HDMI over ethernet.

Strictly speaking if you can run ethernet over power and HDMI over ethernet then surely HDMI can be run over power?

I see the problem though because HDMI doesn't actually run over the ethernet standard it runs simply over the cabling besides, the termination at the end of the ethernet over power is a switch type setup and HDMI cannot run through as switch as far as I know. Further to this if HDMI could run over power then strictly speaking it should be able to run over wireless as well all things considered.

Things may have changed however.

Does anyone know how to get a long run of HDMI integrated into ones existing home infrastructure without running additional cabling?
