Here is a very interesting article for people who would like compare high end (flagship) headphones. I think the article is also great in explaining why expensive headphones also sound much better than mid-level and entry-level headphones through the measurements and where designers are fazed by tricky choices. When going down from flagship levels one can see where companies deliberately sacrifice performance either to distinguish their headphones or to hit a particular price point (See the Sennheiser HD800->HD700->HD650 as a very interesting comparison). Also very evident where there was simply a lack of engineering prowess involved. Anyways, enjoyed buying a Grado once, but I definitely won't ever buy one again after seeing the measurements. Good to see the Hifiman HE-500 do really well, without it being classed a flagship.
