Is CD a dying medium?

So after hearing Shaun Jacobs on a youtube link I decided I wanted to buy his CD. Sadly it seems that you can only get his music from iTunes. Maybe I'm just old school, but is CD a dying medium? Is the future of music 'lossy'?  :thinking:
