Being a serious vinyl player since about 1978 and owning quite a number of pressings from that year onwards to about 1985 120 gm pressings when vinyl fell out of favour I find the pressings of those years far superior to brand new  180gm pressings in the main compared to the pressings of today.I am not referring to the junk you buy from the fancy retail shops but pressings that cost R500.00 upwards. In determining this I mention less snap crackle and pop on the older pressings even after 30+ years of playing and sound quality is far superior. While this post to a certain extent maybe a generalisation  the pressings of yesteryear which cost R8.OO to  R18.00 compared to R500.00+ of today are far superior to some of the pressings of today which cost big money. While I did purchase one or two pressings in the old days they were far in between compared today's pressings.
Just my thoughts and your input will be appreciated. And today I own a RCM in the old days what was that?
