I felt the need for a change and hooked up a diy Pass B1 (build and sold by CurlyCat) and a rewired Pass F5 (Thanks Chris Clarke) build by Mike (Fdlys).
It might not have the 3d sound of a very good valve pre or the bass slam of a Krell but there is a delicacy and finesse to the sound that makes it special compared to any other high end equipment.
This could very easy be a desert island system for me.
Listening to this system immediately raises the question whether the extra costs incurred for the bigger system can be justified in terms of such a small audible difference?
Small systems can be stunning.
