I am not an expert in grammar by ANY means... but please tell me that I am not that ill informed and that they actually got it wrong? - TWICE?!?

(From a 2013 Gr4 Gauteng history textbook... with it comes the challenge to convince the 9 year old that the textbook/teacher is wrong and mommy is right...)
