It seems like the PABX industry is a racket!
Samsung, Panasonic, etc. all offer wonderful systems, but it seems the only way to get them is to enter into a long and costly contract. I tried to get a cash price, but a figure of R14000.00 was quoted for a 4 line unit.
It consists of a tiny PCB in a plastic case, a PSU with battery and 4 el. cheapo phones!
Surely there is a cost effective alternative. I know there's Asterisk which one can run on an old PC, but I would prefer a hardware unit.
