Isophon revival & trubble shooting

I am posting this here for peter whose kids have riddled his machine with all sorts of noo-noos making picture uploads impossible...

• The mid is faulty (no sound at all). What are the chances of fixing that?
• Provided inner volume is kept the same and the baffle width the same - would some new cabs with a more modern look and design benifit these speakers?
• Should the crossover be 'improved' with better components or rather not mess with what needs not be messed with?
