Hello guys, I have been following many of the speaker build threads and am in awe of what can be accomplished in a garage with skillful hands.
I have little experience with speaker building but a passion for creating something using wood / mdf.
I spend some time with Jozua last year at one of the HiFi meeting and he suggested building the Jenzen Illuminator. Well, here goes.
The drivers I was able to procure from Stu (Xumbug), just waiting for delivery but the show must go on.
When it comes to the cross overs, I am out of my league, but open to learn, will procure from Jantzen Audio and Jozua. (f expensive!)
http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Jenzen-Illuminator.htm is the link to plan.
So (my opinion) the Illuminator is not the prettiest, I have a liking to the Sonus Faber Amati Futura, and am hoping to build something with just a fraction of the beauty of the Amati Futura.
So, my theory, maintain internal volume and baffle configuration from Troels design and create the cabinet with lute shape of SF. If I am wrong, please don't tell me, I am to far into it!
So begin the pics (I hope):
Step 1: CNC the shell of the cabinet
