Have a friend of mine, gets hired into this company. Company has been going for a couple of months from what I understand.
First gem is when staff get told to please not declare their tax to SARS because although the company has deducted it, the money hasn't been handed over/declared to SARS.
August salary doesn't get paid until first week of September, staff told not to organise debits on their accounts before 1st of following month.
September salary doesn't turn up at all, many excuses and promises made about imminent salary plus commission due to come in, all of which fail to appear - this morning they get an email telling them they have been retrenched with 1 week's pay, and they are all liable for their own tax.
Surely...surely there is a CCMA case here?!
I'm not asking on her behalf because she tells me she hasn't been affected, but just out of interest's sake - surely this is dodgy business practice?
