I have been smousing turntables on Gumtree for a while now and sell anything from cheap to expensive. The main proviso being that the table works well and will not damage precious vinyl...
Today a young(ish) lady and her friend came to pick up a Pioneer idler that I was selling for cheap... Judging by her shoes I put on an 80's Duran Duran 12" single (that way I could also demonstrate the 45rpm switching procedure too)...
Anyway. That LP is not in the best condition and as soon as the stylus cued there was quite a bit of snap, crackle and pop. I cringed a bit but the ladies beamed to each other and the one said to the other "just listen to that crackle"... They smiled to each other and the buyer said to me enthusiastically "I am taking it"!
Well there you go.
Just listen to that crackle...
;D
