Hi, I'm new to the thread and to the world of audio in general, so hello, hello.

To business. I'm in the process of upgrading my surround. I've bought an Onkyo TX605 reciever and am now deciding on what speakers to pair it with. My listening area is about 4m square.

Originally I was planning on buying a style package like the B&W MT30's or the KEF KHT3005se's. The thing that bother's me though is that I already have a pair of IQ3's that no longer have a place in this new setup.

I then considered keeping the IQ3's and using them as my surround fronts and buying a pair of IQ1's as my rears with the IQ2c as my centre (with the B&W PV1 for my sub). Problem is, there just isn't space in my TV cabinet for the IQ2c, not without a major reshuffle and having to stuff my reciever into an enclosed space.

So, it occured to me that the KHT3005's centre might work along with the IQ surrounds. Am I on to something or will that be too much of a sonic missmatch?

On paper, the specs aren't too disimilar, same output level, same impedence, same size tweeter, output level is the same although the frequency response is 45 - 40000 Hz for the IQ's and 65 - 55000 Hz for the KHT's, but bass for the centre shouldn't be such a problem should it? And the higher top end should be a bonus?
