With all this talk about the Cape Town demo by @Air ... And having a serious bout of FOMO...
I simply jumped at the opportunity to go and listen to the Kef LS60 aka Kef Mini Blades at AE in umhlanga. Having always wanted to listen to the Kef Blades and having missed the chance to, I couldn't pass up this opportunity.
These are the most striking and "beautiful" speakers I've heard and they certainly don't look intimidating at all...
Each speaker has 4 woofers powered by a 500w class D amplifier, 1 mid powered by a 100w class D amplifier and 1 tweeter powered by a 100w class AB amplifier. The speaker has a built-in up to 24bit/384khz DAC and an electronic crossover. You can stream directly to them from Tidal etc.
Did I mention they look "pretty"? They do!
How do they sound? Impressive... Very lifelike especially the saxophone in the song played by Klaus, Liberty by Annette Asvik...
They are not in your face, grab you by the hair type, but you can immediately know its hifi as it starts playing...
Klaus says it's an all in one system for the 22nd century incorporating DAC, amp, streamer, speakers into one beautiful piece...
I guess if you can't be bothered with, interconnects, amps, speaker cables, streamers, DACs, etc and you want something stylish... And... If you can afford the hefty price which is around 140k... this may be for you...
I guess this is still way better than maybe those with JBL wireless bt speakers
