Hi All,
I've got a mid-70's high spec (KA 8006) integrated amp which I fully recapped successfully just over a year ago (thread elsewhere on this forum). Its been working flawlessly until about 2 weeks ago when occasionally the left channel would drop out completely. A light tap on the unit would bring in back into play. However today the left channel has gone completely and despite taking the lid off and tapping a couple of components there is no life.
The amp has a knob for STEREO, LEFT, RIGHT, REV, MIX. In stereo the left channel is dead. In left there is no sound at all. In right there is sound from both speakers. In reverse the left and right are switched so there in sound in the left speaker but not the right. In mix there is sound on both speakers.
If I plug the headphones in I get the same result - no left channel.
I fear this could be a transistor. How would I check?
Thanks in advance
