My little boy is about to start walking and we busy child proofing the house

Any advise on child proofing my stereo , I have a 4 tier open rack , floor standing with grills

but was thinking to leave the stereo open and when the day comes that he want to touch I will disconnect the power and let him under supervision touch and push

I could assume that this will satisfy him to never touch again or I am fooling myself

Any advise would help
