Recently worked on a Marantz 1060 and replaced the power indicator lamp with an LED. From the outside it looks exactly the same. Only difference is it will outlast the rest of the set. The lamps supply is AC. I just added a diode, a cap and a current limiting resistor for the LED.
Was just wondering how the purists feel? Of course you can put a lamp back in anytime if you want.
