Now that my big Lenco build is done, I am ready to move all the unused bits on. When Dewald (ghostinthemachine) and I planned the Testarossa, we bought enough material and manufactured enough bits to build at least two completed machines. It also included more than one donor Lenco L75. Would anyone be interested in the following?
1 x Lenco L75 plinth to take up to 2 x 12" tonearms. The plinth has the bottom few layers bonded already, the top layers need to be added. It also includes all the laser pre-cut aluminum sheets. In order to not use the floppy standard Lenco top plate, Dewald designed and laser cut a new stainless steel top plate, something that works like the famous PTP top plate. There is also blank pre-cut arm boards as the plinth was designed to be able to take 2 tonearms, anything from 9" to 12". The armboards allow you to drill for any geometry you need. The plinth is designed around the constraint layer damping principle. So we alternate 18mm 10 layer baltic birch plywood with 4mm aluminum sheets.
Included is a Lenco platter, two motors and two bearing. All the control rods and levers are also included.
Some pictures...taken with my old iPad so might not be the greatest quality
This is what my completed turntable looks like.
The bits included here will allow you to build something similar.
Asking price would be R 12k or nearest offer. The price reflects the cost of the birch plywood, aluminum, stainless steel, all the design work, and all the laser cutting. It is at a massive discount to what I paid, but I felt someone might enjoy building a dream Lenco for themselves. If you are around Gauteng, I'll throw in the free use of my Acoustical Systems SMARTractor protractor to ensure correct tonearm geometry and cartridge alignment.
All the items can be viewed in Centurion, along with a look and listen of a completed turntable built from these components.
If the mods would rather move this to the for sale section, please do so. Posting here was to gauge if there is any interest.
