He went through the amps with a fine tooth comb, he upgraded and replaced caps, they had also taken out three of the brand new valves, curses lucky I had working spares.
Amps are now perfect, playing great with not a single sound of distress, have put about 15-20 hours on them.
I have 100 db horns, with my ear glued to the horn at max volume all I can hear is a almost imperceptible tube rush. My pre is tube as well.
