This weekend visited Monte Casino, saw a massive LG plasma HD screen. Quite good, well, very good picture. I went over to the man behind the counter to enquire about price, and received a cool "That's half a million siiiiiiir"
Fu..ed.... I not sure its worth that much. I saw a Optoma HD projector a while ago on a normal Grandview screen, about 2.4m x 1.4m. That was a bigger screen, with IMO just as much detail and resolution as the LG plasma (Well, if not the same, 90% there). This for only about R70k. Wow, who would then spent R500k on a plasma screen (Not to mention the gold sprayed plastic HT speakers standing alongside the screen at Monte Casino)
What do you guys think. My knowledge of screens and TV's is dangerous, but to me it seems like R500k is a waste if you can get almost similar for less than R100k.
