Linn LP12, Ittok LVII, Kontrapunkt A, PS Audio phonostage versus my computer [ Maya soundcard, FLAC, PS Audio dac ] listeneing to Mark Murphy's "September Songs" (have the LP, CD & FLAC ).........

Digital sounded very good....

the LP nailed it!

The instruments sounded closer to the real thing - the values of the notes played ( tone, timbre, presence, timing, body where the initial attack, the body and the decay[fast of slowly tapering off], their specificity in the soundstage, etc.., were all well deveoped and very natural, and;

Voices ; Mark Murphy's voice had presence, as in a person in the room, where even the raspiness in his lower octaves, the fantastic range he has especially when he extends himself in the high notes were more felt [a greater sense of emotional connectivity to the music he made];

There was no need to dissect the music or pay special attention to any particular part thereof ( like distractions ) - you are far too sucked into and involved in listening to the artists and enjoying the moment.

As much as I enjoy listening to music,  99% of the time to digital, I have yet to feel the same connection and involvement as with LP!
