Posting here cause I think I am experiencing something , but not sure if I am just confusing myself etc...
And it is partly to do with the vinyl frontend.
Maybe someone have experienced similar or maybe it's even common..
Anyways , hope I can describe it properly first...
So , since I moved to the vintage philips open baffles and 300b amps , I've really been using my squeezebox for most as my Alphason got damaged( as some if you might know allready).
So my initial reports in that setup stated that I am getting nice full musical sound and I do not really need more low end etc...
Lived with it for a while and was happy to sell off my mcintosh and B&W's in favour if this...
Then , I struck luck with a nice Lenco L75 from Andre...
Eventually mounted the Ortofon kontrapunkt A on there...
So,,,
I've been listening to my LP's recently and as per ussual , don't like to make quick assessments of what the system sounds like to me as I understand one needs time to ***** and see if you can live with it etc..
I then found myself thinking I need more low end on the open baffles as many reports etc.. Suggests...
But then ,,, and here is my question...
I found that it seems with the turntable , when the volume is low... The music is very musical and open etc.. etc...
If I turn it up , the music appears not to be going louder and louder as with the Squeezebox, but it gets more fuller and fuller, lower and lower,,, but the listening levels still seem to be very "non fatiguing" or "relaxed" and even at a 20% volume increase( I.e from 3,4 o'clock to 6, 7 o'clock or so), the music still seems to be almost at the same loudness but things just tighten up , like become heavier and stand more out from the cymbals to the lows...and then I think again , ok I don't need more low end on the baffles..
This is actually weird to experience and explain , that it doesn't go louder when you Listen to the overall presentation, but it does go much lower and more defined etc...
I know with the squeezebox...when I apply the same , the overall music listening levels goes up considerably...
Maybe I'm hearing things or confusing myself

, but I enjoy the way the TT does this , but if anyone can explain it perhaps.
