Long USB 2.0 Cable with DAC

Hi all,

I read that the USB 2.0 spec allows for cables up to 5m in length.  Has anyone used a 5m cable (or longer?) with success? This would do quite nicely in my application, but I don't want to rush out to get a 5m cable if its going to give me drop outs or worse.
