Lounge TV watching

I've found that we watch most of our TV series in the lounge and want to get away from TV speakers. My current setup is explora (in a different room) with HDMI cable going to wall mounted plasma. I don't want an AVR.

and then leave the HDMI going to the TV for picture and Digital RCA out from Explora to this goodie and then lastly from this goodie into 2.1 setup via std speaker cables.


All good and should work?
