I picked up a couple of TT's from Ghostie a few weeks ago and one of them which caught my eye was the 284. It was in good condition but was missing the arm wand and headshell.

I decided that I would put a carbon arm on it and get a headshell machined ( Valvago has kindly offered to make me one )

After searching the hobby shops around Jhb and Pta,  I finally managed to find an 8mm carbon tube and decided to make a temporary headshell to test the TT.

I don't have fancy tools, so I "machined " an 8mm dowel to the correct shape and glued on an aluminium plate at the correct angle ( 22,5 degrees), mounted my Elite Electronics 800 parabolic, set her up and she works beautifully.

Wiring came courtesy of another TT from Ghostie, but once the headshell is made up, I'll shop around for something a bit better.

I'll post more pics when it has its fancy headshell.
