Hi all.
I picked up a 284 today that was being thrown out !! ( in pristine condition other than scratches on the lid. !! )
When I move the arm away from the rest , the strobe light flickers once and the platter moves a cm or 2 and stops. It does it once or twice and then the strobe light gets progressively duller until nothing happens.
I opened it up and could not find anything obvious , the cutoff led comes on when the arm disengages the microswitches and goes off if I switch the bypass on so the switches are working. The LED looks dull though.
it seems to me that there is just not enough power to run.
I'm not an electronic fundi, so measuring voltages other than the obvious are beyond me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
